JEAN GRIAS 1919 - 2007 Just shy of his 88th birthday, Jean Grias passed away on September 9, 2007, at Foyer Valade Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Born in Angers, France, Jean arrived in Canada in 1949 and became a Canadian citizen in 1956. A good and kind man, he will be remembered and missed by his wife Mary; his six stepchildren, Jody, Eileen, Pat, Margaret, Karen and Lisette as well as his 13 grandchildren, Trevor, Shane, Erin, Lindsay, Jessalyn, Leslie, Phillip, Mark, Brian, Patrick, Kirsten, Tara and Reggie. Sadly, his great-grandson Chayton will never have the chance to know him. In France, he is survived by sisters, Marie Francoise and Genevieve; and brother Yves; along with many other loving members of his extended family. Jean was predeceased by his sister Anne-Marie. Prayers will take place on Thursday, September 13, starting at 7:00 p.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church in Stonewall. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, September 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King, officiated by Father Glofcheski, with interment to follow. In honour of Jean's selfless support of various charities and his particular interest in organizations helping disabled children, friends are encouraged to make charitable donations in lieu of flowers to the charity of their choice. Thanks to the staff of Foyer Valade for their kind and compassionate care and special thanks to Richard, who always made him smile. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
