Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRONALD DENNIS SHIELLS May 25, 1925 - September 8, 2007 It is with sadness and loss that we announce the death of Dennis at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB. Dennis was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Steep Rock. He worked with his brothers at the Canada Cement Company in Steep Rock until his retirement. After retiring he moved to the Pioneer Home in Ashern. Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Esther Shiells; his brothers, Gib, Herbie and Norvie Shiells; his sister Marion Eyolfson and his brothers-in-law, Harold Eyolfson and Joe Moskal. He is survived by his sister Lorna Moskal, his sisters-in-law, Ethel, Edie and Margaret Shiells; as well as many nieces and nephews. Dennis was visually disabled at an early age, however this did not deter him from leading a very full life. He had a very supportive family. He was a very outgoing man who was a friend to everyone that knew him. At a young age Dennis learned to play the accordion and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. We would like to thank his homecare workers and the staff of the Lakeshore General Hospital. We would especially like to thank his very good friends Lawrence and Elmo. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 2007 at the Steep Rock Community Church with Melanie Kauppila officiating. Interment to follow in the Faulkner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dennis' name to the Lakeshore Hospital Guild, in care of Julie Bergner, PO Box 721, Ashern, MB R0C 0E0 for use in the Palliative Care unit .
