ANN BODNAR (nee PASTERNACK) Ann passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 8, 2007, at the Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband Mike in 1997, father George in 1961, mother Katherine in 1966, brother John in 1983, sisters: Mary in 1988, Margaret in 1999, Pearl in 2000, brother Willie in 2004, brother-in-law Fred Mushie in 1983, and brother-in-law John Bodner in 2004. She is survived by her daughter, Olive (Ray) Mestdagh, Sylvia (Russ) Rudkevich and grandson Michael Mestdagh; brother Steve Pasternak and sister-in-law Elizabeth Bodner and sister-in-law Stella (Walter) Huculak, along with many nieces and nephews. Ann was born on May 5, 1919, in Rackham, MB. She married Michael Bodnar in 1942 and together they farmed until dad retired. After dad passed away Mom sold the farm and moved to Sandy Lake. For the last 3 years, mom has been living with her daughter Sylvia and son-in-law Russ in Winnipeg. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 14, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church in Sandy Lake. Interment will follow in St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Rackham. Father Emil Kardasinec will officiate. Viewing will take place one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Michael Mestdagh, Larry Huculak, Lloyd Huculak, Ralph Wilson, Ron Gawiuk and Ernie Braschuk; crossbearer will be Ivan Braschuk. Special thanks to the staff and doctors on 3B Unit 6, at the Seven Oaks Hospital, for the care and compassion during mom's short illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ann's memory to a charity of your choice.
