CHARLOTTE MAE SUTTON Charlotte Mae Sutton, born February 12, 1947 died peacefully at the Hill House Hospice, Richmond Hill, ON, on Friday September 7, 2007 after a two year challenge with cancer. Charlotte was the very much loved wife of Gordon Cornelius, sister and sister-in-law of Audrey Sutton and Douglas Fairweather of Vernon, BC, Lorraine Sutton and Robert Burcher of Clarksburg, ON, Denis Sutton and Gwen Miller Sutton, nephews, Shane and Wade Miller of Winnipeg, MB. Charlotte was born and raised in Winnipeg and was active in both Explorers and CGIT at St. Paul's United Church. She was also an enthusiastic member and Honoured Queen of Bethel # 5 of the International Order of Job's Daughters. After graduating from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate, Charlotte entered the nursing profession. She graduated and worked as a pediatric nurse at Children's Hospital, Winnipeg. She completed graduate studies in OR nursing at Montreal General and worked as OR supervisor at Kelowna General before leaving nursing to work in medical sales. Charlotte married Gordon in 1991 and to join him in his passion for golf, she joined Toronto Ladies. Ladies became an important part of her life, making a whole new set of friends. In 1997, they established a winter retirement home in Florida at University Park Country Club, where her passion for the game really matured and again, making many new golfing and lifelong friends. Charlotte deeply valued her family and close friends, always keeping in touch. She was most generous and sincere and opened her heart and home to all those she cherished. Charlotte's intoxicating smile and zest for life will be deeply missed by her loving family and precious friends throughout Canada and in Florida. We would like to sincerely thank the many caregivers who supported Char's quality of life during two+ years of treatments and care. Celebrations of her life, to be attended by family and close friends, will be held in Winnipeg at Niakwa Golf and Country Club, 620 Niakwa Rd., on Sunday, September 16 at 3:00 p.m. in Toronto, at Thornhill Golf and Country Club, 7994 Yonge St. on Saturday, September 22, at 1:00 p.m. and in Vancouver, at a date, time, and location to be determined. In all three locations dress codes will apply, that is, no denim to be worn. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Hill House Hospice, 36 Wright St., Richmond Hill, ON, L4C 4A1 or North York General Hospital Foundation (for Oncology), 4001 Leslie St., North York, ON, M2K 1E1.
