Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN WILSON Joan passed away at Victoria Hospital on September 9, 2007 at the age of 80 after a short illness. Joan was born in Winnipeg on May 7, 1927. She attended Laura Secord School and went on to obtain her degree in Home Economics from the University of Manitoba. From 1947 to 1959 she lived with her husband David and family at Rapid City, MB. In 1959 the family moved to Virden where David was employed by VLA as a settlement officer. In 1968 the family moved to Winnipeg where David was employed by F.C.C. In her youth Joan enjoyed her summer holidays at her parents' cottage at St. Laurent with the family. Later in life she enjoyed playing bridge and going to the theatre, and winter vacations in Tucson, Arizona. Joan is survived by David, her husband for 60 years, and children, Pat, John and Margo and brothers, Hume of Winnipeg and Bruce of Vancouver. She was predeceased by sisters, Kay Young, Eileen Barber, Francis Jones and a brother David Young. The family thanks all those who visited in the hospital and brought beautiful flowers. Thanks to Dr. Evans and Dr. Sharkey and the staff at Victoria Hospital. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn at 4000 Portage Ave., on Saturday, September 22 at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Joan's memory may be made to the faculty of Human Ecology Endowment Fund, Capital, University of Manitoba, 179 Extended Education Complex, Winnipeg, MB R3T 3N3.
