LILLIAN ILCHENA (nee STEFFES) 1911 2007 Peacefully on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at River East Personal Care Home, Lillian went home to our Father in heaven. She was predeceased by her husband Julian, her daughter Lyla Belluk, her granddaughter Donna Klopak, brothers, John and Lawrence and sister-in-law Mary Steffes. Lillian is survived by her children; Clara (Bob Nolan), Andrew (Jeanette), Irene (Stan Klopak) and son-in-law Mel Belluk, grand-children; Bruce (Joanne), Barbara, Allan (Julia) Nolan Lynn (Chris du Quesnay), Andrea Labelle (Brian Carlson), Patrick (Bev), Paul (Karen) Ilchena, Howard (Susan Perich), Philip (Donna), Norman (Tanis), Rodger (Louise), Andrew (Gigi) Klopak, Lois Belluk (Gord Orlikow), Brent (Margaret) Belluk and 32 great-grandchildren. Lillian and Julian married in 1930. Together they raised their four children on the Ilchena homestead. In 1947 they moved to Beausejour. After dad retired, they spent many winters in Texas. Following dad's death, mom continued to live in Beausejour. In 2000 she moved to Columbus Villa in Transcona to be closer to her children. She spent her last year and a half at River East Personal Care Home. Life on the farm kept mom pretty busy but she always made time for family and church. Being a CWL life member was very meaningful to her. She also spent many contented hours with her favourite pastime, knitting and crocheting. Mom was a quiet, gentle person, a good listener and a caring friend. She was loved by all who knew her. Prayers will be said Friday evening (tonight), September 14 at 8:00 p.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 530 Atlantic Avenue, Beausejour. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, September 15 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church with Rev. Fr. Mark Drozniak presiding. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. We thank all the staff at River East Personal Care Home involved in mom's care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Benedict's Monastery, 225 Masters Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R4A 2A1 or a charity of one's choice.
