SHEILA MARY FUDGE May 2, 1929 - September 12, 2007 After a short but courageous battle, Sheila passed away peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital, with family by her side. Sheila was predeceased by Peter, her husband of 50 years. Sheila leaves to cherish her memory, son Robert and wife Joy, son Barry and friend Jackie, grandchildren, Iain, Thomas and Erin and numerous relatives and friends in Canada, Great Britain and far flung parts of the world. Sheila was born and raised in Porthcawl, Wales and moved to Canada with Peter in 1955. She first settled in Montreal and when not attending to her family worked for the Sun Life Assurance Co. The family moved to Winnipeg for several years in the late 1960s, and set roots that would eventually draw them all back. Sheila and Peter traveled extensively and they saw much of the globe together. They retired to Vancouver Island in 1989, but returned to Winnipeg in 2000 to be close to family. Sheila was warm and caring, tenacious and strong. At age 68, after years on dialysis, Sheila received a new kidney. That gift allowed Sheila to enjoy another 10 wonderful years with a much enhanced quality of life. The family would like to thank Dr. Rush and all the members of the HSC Renal Clinic, for the years of clinical care and for the efforts of the entire HSC Ward GD team and to St. Boniface palliative ward to help Mom in her final days. A very special Thanks is also extended with love by the rest of the family to son Barry, for moving from England to live with Sheila and be near all of us. Sheila, your love, kind spirit and sense of humour will be fondly remembered by all. A private service will be held and cremation has taken place. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
