JANE CLARK MURIE Peacefully on Monday, September 3, 2007, Jane Clark (Jean) Murie passed away at Golden West Centennial Lodge at the age of 93. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister-in-law Theresa Murie, nephew Fraser (Kathy), children, Cherie and Marc, niece Cheryl Murie Sanders (Don), children, Danielle, Brett, Larissa and Matthew, dear friends, Alexander and Jean Christie and family. She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters and one brother and her brother Robert by two days. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland to Jemima Clark Fraser and Forrest Stevenson Murie. She lived in Glasgow until she came to Canada in 1964. While in Glasgow, Jane enjoyed being a member of the Highland Institute and the Daughters of Scotland. During the Second World War, she served her country working as a tram car ticket agent. In 1964 she came to live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to be with her younger brother Robert and his family, wife Theresa, nephew Fraser and niece Cheryl. These two were the love of her life, she was everything to them, even their friends called her Auntie Jean. To her friends she was called Jeannie. In Winnipeg she worked as a ward clerk at the Grace Hospital until her retirement. She was an active member with the Sons of Scotland, The Caledonian Society, St. James Anglican Church seniors club and she was a devoted member of St. James Presbyterian Church. Jane was a kind and thoughtful individual. Helping friends and family came naturally to her. She was always genuine with her words and deeds. Many times throughout Jane's life she revisited her beloved Scotland. In agreement with her brother Robert, it was Scotland forever and Canada longer. Special thanks to the Golden West Centennial Lodge for their care and compassion during Jane's stay and final days. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service was held on September 8, 2007. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
