Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA CLARA FURTADO It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Clara Furtado at the age of 74 on September 13, 2007 at the St. Boniface Hospital with her family be her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, John (Colleen), Jaime, George (Barb), Elizabeth (Arthur) Peixoto; grandchildren, Stephany, Alia, Michael, Davin, Joshua, Brendin, Selena, Nicholas, Jen, Daniel, Connie. She also will be missed by many family and friends in Canada, USA and Portugal. She was predeceased by her husband Antonio on November 1, 2002. Clara was born in Santa Cruz, Sao Miguel, Açores, Portugal on August 31, 1933. She immigrated with her son John in April 1961, joining her husband in Winnipeg. She worked for many years for Perth's and the International Inn until retirement. She enjoyed time spent with family especially every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her magnetic personality attracted many friends that have remained close throughout the years. We would like to thank Dr. Fuzeta, Dr. Rabson, Dr. Tam, the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their special care the last few years. A special thank-you to Home Care for their kindness, support and the wonderful care that was given to her. Prayers will be said 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 18 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Immaculate Conception. Rite of Committal to follow at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
