MICHAEL JAMES (JIM) WIZBICKI We are saddened to say Jim left us suddenly in his sleep Friday morning, September 14, 2007 at the age of 89, at Deer Lodge Centre. Predeceased by his parents, John and Melayna; brother Vic (Joan); sisters, Nellie (Mike), Stella (Art), and surviving sister Jenny (George). He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Phyllis of 62 years; his four children, Linda (Norm Cullen), Barry (Donna), Dave (Bettie), and Wayne (Sue); his 11 grandchildren, Robin, Amber (Dave Falkenberg), Jeremy, Tammy, Cassie, Jessie, Dara, Ryan, Keri, Paul and Jennifer; his two great-grandchildren, Patrick and Cecilia, and many nieces, nephews and English relatives. Jim, who grew up in Tyndall, Manitoba, served his country overseas in the Second World War where he met his wife Phyllis, the sunshine of his life, in Aldershot, England. They later married in Sidmouth, England. He retired 24 years ago after a lifelong career of 39 years as a shipper with Manitoba Bridge. Jim was a long time member of St. James Legion #4, and an avid curler for many years, curling with his three sons. He and his family enjoyed many hours at their cottage in Sandy Hook, which he, his three sons and son in law built together. There were also many hours spent golfing at the Sandy Hook Golf Course. Jim was a long-standing member at the St. James Anglican Church, where he was also a sidesman. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Tower 5 at Deer Lodge Centre for their care, also, special thanks to the Color Party of St. James Legion #4. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with a luncheon to follow. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, in Jim's memory can be made to the Parkinson's Society of CancerCare Manitoba. Lest We Forget You Will Forever Be In Our Hearts And Our Memories.
