Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH JAMES GRAHAM Peacefully, on September 10, 2007, at the age of 93, Kenneth James Graham passed away at Victoria General Hospital. Ken was born in 1914, son of Jessie and William Graham. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Helen, brother Gordon and grandson Gary. He is survived by his sister Muriel Andrews, daughters Nora Sharpe, Shirley Kerslake (James) and Roberta Thompson (Wayne) as well as six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Ken was a long-time resident of Fort Rouge, born in the family home on Walker Avenue, where he later lived for over 55 years. He attended Lord Roberts Elementary School and Kelvin High School. A life member of the Amalgamated Transit Union, working as a bus driver and chosen bus driver of the year in 1967, he retired in 1979. He was a member of the Assiniboine Credit Union since its inception serving, among other positions, as president of the board of directors. After retirement he built a cottage at Leeside Recreational Co-op and spent many happy summers there with family and friends. Another favourite pastime was volunteering at the Manitoba Heritage Association restoring old buses. Above all, Ken will be remembered by friends and family as a clever, charming, sweet and gentle man who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue, Aubrey Street entrance. Thanks for all the free bus rides. Bonnie and I and Roberta had such fun back in those days. Living now in BC we think of our childhood days on Walker avenue, raiding the neighborhood rhubarb and strawberry patches. Whenever I visit my youngest daughter and family she takes me on a nostalgic drive past 470 Walker ave.
