Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILLICENT (MILLY) FRANCES FRANCKLIN Our dear Milly passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior at Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home on September 16, 2007, at the age of 94. Milly was born on January 2, 1913, in Ramsgate, England, and at the age of three, came to Canada with her mother Amelia, her sister Dorothy and her brother Charles to join their father Frederick Francklin in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Milly was predeceased by her parents, sister Dorothy, sister-in-law Grace and special friend Rolph Nelson. Milly leaves to mourn her brother Charles from California and her many special friends who were her family. Milly started her working life at the Ninette Sanitorium in Manitoba. She moved to Kenora in 1953 to work at Lakewood School, firstly in the office and then in the library until her retirement in 1978. Milly was an active member of the First Baptist Church and volunteered with the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation for many years. Milly loved life and enjoyed an active lifestyle with her many friends. Milly was a little lady with a big heart. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. A celebration of Milly's life will be held on Friday, September 21, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church at 510 Second Street South. Kathy, Maureen and Louise would like to especially thank the wonderful staff at Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home for all the compassionate care and kindness given to Milly. We would also like to thank Dr. Waldy Loewen for his many years of caring for our Milly.
