Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICK SOPIWNYK June 29,1931 - September 16, 2007 On Sunday, September 16, 2007 at the Vita Personal Care Home, Nick Sopiwnyk passed away peacefully at the age of 76 years. Left to mourn his passing is one brother Peter (Mary) of Vita and one sister Bella (Danny) Kalenchuk of Winnipeg and many nieces and nephews. Nick was predeceased by his wife Cecelia in 2002 and by his parents, John and Tekla, two sisters, Ann and Maruca, three brothers, Mike, Matt and Bill. Viewing will be held on Wednesday September 19 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and prayers at 7:00 p.m. at the Vita Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday September 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Ukrainian Catholic Church by Sopiwnyks. Rev. Father Greg Zubacz and Rev. Deacon Leon Twerdun officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Special thanks to the staff and management at the Vita Personal Care Home (Whispering Pines) for the sensitive and compassionate care given during Nick's stay.
