JEANNE MARIE KORNBERGER (ASSELIN) (JEANNIE) 1921 - 2007 On Monday, September 17, 2007, Jeanne Kornberger passed away after a short battle with cancer, at the Riverview Health Centre. Jeanne was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward Eddie , by her parents, Hermas and Marie Louise Asselin, her son Rene and her sister Aurore McArthur. She is survived by her loving daughters, Doreen Sloate (John) and Valerie Feuillatre (Herve) five grandchildren, Issac Lewis (Heather), Josh Lewis (Sue), Noah Lewis (Lisa), Derrick Feuillatre (Shelley), Marcy-Lynn Larner (Barclay); eight great-grandchildren, Carley, Jordan, Kyra, Morgan, Jonah, Grace, Conner and Cadence. Brother Armand (Maryann) Asselin, sister-in-law Esther Kornberger. Jeanne was born on May 30, 1921, in St. Jean Baptiste, MB. Jeanne raised her two daughters in a small house in St. Boniface where she also tended to her hairdressing business of which she started on her own. Many a conversation took place at Jeanne's salon over the years with her loyal clients where she gained long time friendships. After her retirement she and Eddie enjoyed many years at their lake front lot at the Heather Game Fish. They also enjoyed travelling and spending time with family and friends. Jeanne was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who were touched by her kindness. God was looking for a compassionate soul and he found one in you. We love you. A celebration of Jeanne's life will be held on Friday, September 21, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Interment will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, remembrances of Jeanne may be sent to the Palliative Care at Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
