LOIS KATHLEEN LAMY (nee RHODES) October 8, 1926 - September 18, 2007 After a brave struggle with failing health, it is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lois K. Lamy. Lois is predeceased by her parents, Olive and Walter Rhodes, her husband Jack Rees, her son Richard Rees and granddaughter Andrea Rees. Lois will be lovingly remembered by her loving husband Raymond Lamy of 37 years and her sister Donna Eddy. Lois will also be deeply missed by her children, Trevor Rees of Winnipeg, Sharon Lundin and Lianne McDonald (Norm) of Gibbons, Alberta, Laura Montebello of Deroche, British Columbia, and Lois' 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Lois will also be missed by her numerous nephews, cousins and dear friends. Lois had a long and fulfilling life. Born at the Grace Hospital and then raised in the west end where she attended Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. After finishing High School, Lois worked for a time at MTS where she met her first husband Jack. After spending some time in Kingston, Ontario she returned to Winnipeg to raise her children. After marrying Ray, they chose to retire on Paisley. Throughout her life, Lois displayed determination and perseverance in any endeavor she chose. Lois was an active volunteer. Some organizations which she put her heart into included but not limited to: Navy League, Norwood Community Club, Canada Cancer Mount, Community Policing and she particularly enjoyed many years at the Christmas Cheer Board. The family would like to give a warm THANK YOU to those who looked after Lois at the Health Science Centre. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Street, Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home. Private family interment will occur at a later date.
