GORDON RUTTER Peacefully, with family at his side, Gordon Walter Rutter passed away at age 77, on September 18, 2007 at Carman Memorial Hospital. Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Isabel (nee MacNair) and sons, Ken (Pat), Blair (Yolanda) and Blaine (Shannon) and grandchildren, Jessica, Jenessa and Jayden Rutter; Emily and Alexander Hogeveen Rutter; and Cory, Jolene, Cal and Leanne Rutter. Gordon was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Sarah, sisters, Bessie Dickey (Bill), Irene Hardy (Cecil), brother Elmer, infant grandson Jarrett Rutter and brothers-in-law, Ernie McGregor and Jim Thomson. He is survived by sisters, Myrle McGregor, Shirley Thomson, sister-in-law Joyce Rutter and many other relatives. Gordon was born in Carman on January 16, 1930 and raised on the family farm at Rosebank where he subsequently farmed all his life. Gordon enjoyed fishing, hunting and dancing in his younger days. In later years he enjoyed family vacations and taking the family camping and waterskiing at Stephenfield Lake. Gordon and Isabel moved to Carman in 1999. He took great delight in their annual winter vacations in Texas, playing floor shuffleboard with Isabel, and playing cards with family and friends. The Blackwell Reunion and MacNair family Christmas were also joyful annual events. Gordon was proud to be a farmer, displaying a strong work ethic and taking great satisfaction in clean fields and good crops. He was even more proud of the achievements of his children and grandchildren in academics and sporting events. Funeral services for Gordon will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 22 at Carman United Church, 134 1st Street SW in Carman with Rev. Catherine Waldie officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Miami United Church, Carman United Church or a charity of your choice.
