c 1921 - 2007 Funeral services were held Monday, September 17, 2007 in Mission Hills, California for the late Joseph Hechter, formerly of Winnipeg. He is survived by Eileen (Hyman) his devoted wife of 59 years, his sons Brian, Gary, and Jeff (Terri). Granddaughters Brittany, Meghan and Heather mourn his loss, as do his siblings Eva (Reuben) Cristall, Sid (Grace), Betty Dobbs (Bill) and Ted (Gail). Following his tour of service during the Second World War he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for outstanding performance of his duties and bravery. He lived his life to the fullest with joy and appreciation. His life was special to all those with whom he had a relationship. He was predeceased by his parents Ben and Rose Hechter, and his sister Ethel Shieff.
