Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMASHA MARIE STRANG (COLLINS) May 28, 1929 September 20, 2007 On Thursday, September 20, 2007 Masha Marie Strang went to be with her Lord and Saviour. Masha was born on the Nelson Indian Reserve in Flat Lands, NB. She leaves behind her son David (Deanne), daughter Donna (Fred); grandchildren Jordan, Anthony, Angela and Joel; sister Ursula Mullen (Claire); sister-in-law Marie Collins and many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Masha married Alton Strang on July 22, 1950 in Toronto. They moved to Winnipeg in 1957. Mom took joy in serving and giving to others for many years in many ways. Among them, she taught Sunday School, assisted in Crusaders, volunteered at Kildonan Place Nursing Home and knitted blankets and baby outfits to sell at Calvary Place Home, to name a few. She was also a greeter, at Calvary Temple, her church for almost 50 years, up until her final illness. Masha was predeceased by her husband Alton in 1997; parents Beatrice and Perley Collins; Uncle John Kaine and brother Marvin. She enjoyed coffee and weekly breakfasts with friends. She was always up for a good game of Scrabble or Dominos, did her crossword and jigsaw puzzles daily and loved to read. Behind her quiet personality lay a great sense of humour. Masha had a voluminous memory for birthdays, anniversaries and other dates. She will be remembered and greatly missed. Masha's service of remembrance will be held at Calvary Temple, Buntain Chapel, at the corner of Hargrave and Cumberland in Winnipeg, on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon prior to interment at Glen Eden Cemetery. To Donna & Fred, David & Deanne, all family & friends. We are very sad to hear of Masha`s passing. She will be missed by many people. We always had a special bond with both Masha & Alton through his brother Arthur. They served in World War II together & he & Masha kept his memory alive for us. We remember Masha as a very quiet person with a sweet & giving personality & having a great love for her family, friends & her church. We wish her Godspeed.
