RONALD JAMES GILCHUK 1945 - 2007 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, dad, stepdad, son-in-law and brother, Ron on Sunday September 16 at 7:45 a.m. Ron was predeceased by his parents, James Metro Gilchuk 1913 1986 and Ann Gilchuk (Gramek) 1915 1987. Ron was born February 3, 1945 in Yorkton, SK and was the eldest of four brothers: Robert of Salmon Arm, BC, Stewart of Regina, SK and Wayne of Yorkton, SK. Ron is also survived by his wife Lynda; mother-in-law Reta Smith, son Dean (Saskatoon), daughter Nicole (Regina) and stepdaughter Tammy Parker. He will be missed by all who loved him. Special thanks to Dr. Kuegle for his compassion and excellent care over the years. Thanks to Seven Oaks Hospital who cared for Ron for several weeks and St. Boniface Palliative Care who helped Ron manage his pain during his final days. We are eternally grateful to the Manitoba Palliative Home Care team whose compassionate care allowed Ron to remain at home for the last two months of his life. Ron's home care nurse, Tammie Lee can never be thanked enough for the excellent care she gave not only to Ron but to Lynda, Reta and Tammy. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of Ron's Home Care workers. Cremation has taken place. The Remembrance Service is Monday, September 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. followed by a reception at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 155 Bannerman Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Marymound, 442 Scotia St., Winnipeg R2V 1X4 or Palliative Home Care Program c/o St. Boniface Hospital.
