MARGARET (PEGGY) LEISHMAN MCMILLAN Peacefully at Misericordia Place on September 13, 2007, Peggy died having lived a very full and long life. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland on February 26, 1909 to William and Helen McMillan. Her parents settled in Winnipeg in 1913. As a teenager Peggy started work with Eaton's during the summer holidays; she realized early on that she had a flair for business. She continued her education, and thereafter moved into the administrative offices of Eaton's in Winnipeg. Her organizational talent and understanding of people led to progressively more senior roles, and during the last number of years, before her retirement, she was responsible for coordinating all the Departments for the transition to the age of the computer. Peggy had many interests. She was a member of the XANA Business and Professional Women's Club, a member of the Southwood Golf and Country Club, a longtime supporter of the Symphony, the Ballet, the Theatre and the Art Gallery. She loved golfing, travel and people. Peggy moved to Bethel Place on Stafford Avenue very shortly after it was completed. She enjoyed the many years she lived there and the new friends she met. As her health began to decline she decided in 2005 to move to Misericordia Place, where the staff provided her with superb care, attention and comfort. A special thanks to all who knew and cared for Peggy at Misericordia Place. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service for Peggy will be held on Friday September 28 at 3:00 p.m. at Bethel Place, 445 Stafford Street. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
