HELEN KRAHN (DOERKSEN) On September 8, 2007 after 25 years of health issues, Helen Krahn fought her last battle and died peacefully at the Grace Hospital. She was born on June 5, 1933 in Gretna, MB. Helen was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Helena Doerksen; her brothers Jake (Rose), Harry (Margaret) and Peter (Diane). She is survived by her brothers John (Satya), Bill (Lil); and sister MaryAnn (Ed) who live in B.C. Her children, Jan (Bert), Joanne and Bob are grateful for having had an additional 15 Mother's Days with her thanks to a liver transplant which she received in Edmonton in 1992. Helen enjoyed her family and friends, playing music, creating art and gardening. Any combination of these was pure Heaven to her including shopping. Helen will be sorely missed by her family and friends, until we meet again. Thank you to Dr's. Kramer and Johnson and the 3rd floor staff at the Grace Hospital for the quality care, respect, and thoughtfulness to our mother and to our family. Also thank you to Dr. Minuk and staff at the Health Sciences Centre for 15 years of quality care. Service was held on September 10 at the Winkler Cemetery which followed with a Celebration of Life at the residence of cousins Ray and Glory St. Germaine.
