KENNETH MICHAEL MYKICHUK On September 20, 2007, peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side, we regret to announce that our Kenny, at the age of 51, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Ken is survived by his best friend, soul mate and wife, Beverley, mother Helen, sisters Joan (Robert) Rusak and Pat (Gary) Ward, brother Peter, brothers-in-law Allan (Joanne), Robert, Terry (Debbie), Richard, Bradley (Leanne) Sigfusson, and many nephews and nieces who were a very important part of his life. He will be dearly missed by his good buds, George, Scott, Ray and Rick. He was predeceased by his father Mickey and his mother and father-in-law Viola and Thomas Sigfusson. Ken lived life to it's fullest and had many, many friends. His favourite times were spent at Lundar Beach, where he worked for Manitoba Conservation at the Provincial Park for the last seven summers. He worked at CBC for 13 years in the sales department and then opened his own business, Interlake Promotions. He was a terrific salesman and a great listener. Ken excelled in quality customer service for his many loyal clients. In his youth, he enjoyed the family cottage at Grand Beach. He loved the sun and the sand. After meeting and marrying his wife Bev in 1987, his attentions focused on their life together and their happy times at Lot 28 at Lundar Beach. Ken's Little Princess, Sunny Girl will also miss her cruises with her Papa. Great memories and melodies of jamming with many talented musicians, with Kenny behind his kit, will be forever cherished. He will be dearly missed and remembered for his zest for life, his compassion, his welcoming nature and his love for his family. He touched so many lives, in so many ways, yet he often did not realize the impact he had on them. He enjoyed the outdoors, scouting for wood in the fall with his brother-in-law Brad and the boys, ensuring comfort at his happy place . Ice fishing in the winter, catching a few rays in the summer, he loved his morning coffee and appreciated what he had. His approach and attitude in dealing with his illness gave us all strength and comfort to go on without him. We will never forget him and his spirit will live on. Bev would like to especially thank Dave LeBlanc for spending so much time with Ken over the past few weeks and to the Palliative Home Care Nurses that came to assist us. Prayers will be said Monday, September 24, 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 25, 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel with interment and reception to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street, Winnipeg. The Very Reverend Fr. John Melnyk officiating. Pallbearers will be George Lyseyko, Scott Henderson, Ray Kartzmark, Brad Sigfusson, Jeff Mykichuk, and Rick Geswein. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dave LeBlanc, Fred Giles, Neil McLean, Ralph Burokas, Jeff Houghton, and all of his nieces and nephews whom he treasured. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
