Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLET ALICE REINSCH Suddenly but peacefully with her family at her side, Violet Reinsch passed away on Monday, September 17, 2007 at the Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 81 years. Predeceased by her husband, Karl in 2003 and her daughter, Susan McDonald in 2006, Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children, Rod (Audrey), Mark, JoAnne (Lynn Poersch), and Tim (Corinne); grandchildren, Shannon (Donovan Henzel), Jody (Andrew Modler), Ryan (Lara), Jennifer, Jesse, Ian, Nicholas and Travis; and great-grandchildren, Brody, Taylor and Jalen. Mom is also survived by two brothers, Lyle Sterna (Gertrude) and Don Sterna (Cathy), and her Aunt Charlotte Rodgers. Mom was born on May 16, 1926 to Emil and Nellie Sterna and raised on the family farm in Brunkild - a 1996 Century Farm that remains in the Sterna/Reinsch family today. Following graduation Mom worked for a short time in Winnipeg and then, with her girlfriend Marty, moved to Toronto where she spent two years working and making many new friends and memories that she cherished for her entire life. Although a record-breaking snowstorm delayed the happy event, Mom and Dad were wed on February 10, 1947. The next 47 years were spent raising five children and alongside her husband, building a farming establishment that continues on today. In 1994, due to failing health, Mom moved to Deer Lodge Centre where she remained until her passing. Mom was an active member of the Centre's community and developed long lasting friendships with many of the caregivers and fellow residents. Although Mom lived with MS and its debilitating effects for over 50 years, she always maintained great faith, strong determination, cheerfulness and a sense of humour. It is this determined spirit that will long be remembered by those she leaves behind. We love you Mom. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Deer Lodge Centre T6 for the care, compassion and friendship that they have given our mother over the past many years. In keeping with Mom's wishes, a private family service has been held. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, 400-141 Bannatyne Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3B 0R3 or The Deer Lodge Foundation for Geriatrics, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2J 0L3.
