FLORENCE A. EDWARDS (nee FRIESEN) Peacefully, on September 19, 2007, aged 82 years, at Concordia Place Personal Care Home. She leaves to mourn, her children Jack (Carolyn), Marilyn (Chuck) Bergmann, Ken (Gabriella) and Jan (Brian) Bordyniuk, seven beloved grandchildren, seven great-grand-children and numerous dear nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her precious sisters, Kay Loewen, Lil (Gord) Collins, Deanna (Don) Kohanik and wonderful brother Harvey Friesen. She was predeceased by her husband Stewart, parents P.T. and Agatha Friesen, brother Kenneth Friesen and sister Mabel Friesen. Flo and Stew raised their family in Transcona and later moved to Henderson Highway and then out to the family cottage at Lee River. After many years of service in the hotel industry, she retired as Reservations Manager with CP Hotels. Her retirement years at Lee River included volunteer work at the Lac Du Bonnet Health Centre and was active with the Royal Canadian Legion when she was not renovating the cottage. Her last years in Winnipeg included armchair coaching the Toronto Blue Jays and curling bonspiels. She never lost her love for crafting, sketching, jigsaw puzzles, wood working, knitting, reading, cross stitch and chronicling the family history. We cannot express enough our gratefulness to the 3rd floor staff at Concordia Place Personal Care Home. Her family would like to give special hugs to her sister Deanna and to an amazing family friend Fred Knight for all their care and attention. Our appreciation also extends to our family and friends who have given us the support we needed to care for Mom. Memorial service and reception to be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 6, 2007, at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy. Cremation has taken place and private interment ceremony at Transcona Cemetery will occur at a later date.
