GILBERT WILFRED DAVIS (KIBBY) July 31, 1933 - September 19, 2007 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, brother and uncle on Wednesday, September 19, 2007. Remaining to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 53 years, Margaret (nee Murphy); daughters, Laurie (Sid), Linda (Fred); sons, Glenn (Robin), Patrick (Josie); grandchildren, James, Sheila, Jennifer, Clayton, Shawnee, Cheyenne, Tyler, Kaylyn, Kaden; great-grandchildren, Adrian, Avery and Zackery; brother Stanley (Ann); and sister Beatrice; numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Predeceased by his parents, grandparents, and mother-in-law and grandson. Gil was raised in Fisher Branch. He loved music, singing and playing his guitar. His hobbies included curling, shuffleboard, hunting, fishing, camping and playing horseshoes. Gil (Kibby) was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion where he served as current president of the Elmwood No. 9 Branch. He was employed with Trimac Transportation for 30 years. Special thanks to the nurses and doctors at Concordia Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre, SICU. A service celebrating his life will be held on Monday, September 24, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Legion Branch No. 9 at 920 Nairn Ave. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Overwater, Bill Lord, Earl Peterson, Stanley Davis, Sid Sanderson, and Fred Taylor. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Canadian Cancer Society. Kibby (Grandpa) Thank you for the gift of love now you're sharing it up above. You had many things to say, All in a caring way. You always saw good in everyone, No matter what they've done. You were always the one we could all lean on, Even though it must have felt like a ton. You were always the strength of the family, Now we must let you rest calmly. As we say goodbye, As tears roll down our eyes. I know your place in Heaven has a good view, Because you're telling God I need to keep an eye on few. I know you will always be in our hearts and mind. So Grandpa Kibby I must go, but I'll never forget you're one of a kind. We love you. Family Owned and Operated Knysh Funeral Chapel 582-0973
