Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALLAN DAVID MCINTOSH 1929 - 2007 After a valiant battle with lung disease, Allan passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the age of 78 years, in the presence of his loving family. Remaining to forever cherish Allan's memory, are his wife Marjory of 53 years of marriage; daughters, Gerri and Marilyn; sons, Brad (Sheila), Howard (Wanda), Wayne (Charlene); nine grandchildren, Emily, Ashley, Bryan, Sarah, Matthew, Derek, Kathryn, Breyden and Madison; brothers, Bud (Katie) and Ron (Julie); sisters, Barbara, Carol and Wendy (Ken); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Edmonton, Allan moved to St. James as a young boy . A few years later he met Marjory and they married in 1954 living their first five years in ThunderBay. In 1960 they bought their home in Transcona where they raised their five children. During those busy years as his children grew Allan supported and attended many of his sons' sporting events. He enjoyed watching and playing sports, pool, hockey and golf being some of his favourites. His hobbies included crosswords, reading the newspaper daily and travelling. He had a sharp mind and loved playing card/ board games of all kinds. One of his greatest joys was building the family cottage at Spruce Sands which he enjoyed well into retirement. The door was always open to family and friends and he especially cherished time with his grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 25 at 10:30 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Parish, 710 Roanoke Street, with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves, presiding. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Cook's Creek, Manitoba. We thank the staff at Concordia Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Allan's memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Avenue, R3A 1P6, or to the charity of one's choice.
