Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY KOWALCHUK (nee OKURLEY) It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my mother, Mary Kowalchuk on September 20, 2007 at the age of 84 years. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter in 1998 and her son-in-law Mark Zuckerman in 2003; her parents, John and Maggie Okurley; sisters Olga and Betty; brothers, Peter and Mike. Left to cherish her memory are loving daughter Margie; her sisters Eva and Frances and brothers Tony and Joe as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Inwood, MB on October 29, 1922 and married Dad in 1944. They farmed in Inwood until 1960 at which time they moved to Winnipeg. She retired from Eaton's in 1982 and it was after this time that they began to travel for the next ten years. Mom and Dad's favourite holiday was spent with sister Eva and her family in Hawaii. Mom loved to bake and cook as well as tend her garden especially lots of beautiful flowers. When she moved from her house to the Hedges she enjoyed the activities and special events with them. Her quiet unassuming manner and gentle demeanor as well as strong faith made my Mom the special person that she was. Her lovely smile and twinkle in her eye will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. In memory of my Mom. I would like to thank all my family and friends for the support, care and most of all the love that you have shown and given me. As usual you were there for me unconditionally. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 26 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Avenue. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Michaluk, Kurtis Michaluk, Larry Specaluk, Arnold Kolaski, Ed Chrapchynski, John Chrapchynski and honorary pallbearer Jordan Michaluk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to a charity of your choice. Rest in peace, Mom with Dad and Mark and know that I will love you always and am proud to be your daughter. Love Margie. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
