NICHOLAS WIWCHARENKO Peacefully on Sunday, September 23, 2007, Nicholas at the age of 90 was called to be with our Lord. Besides his loving wife Pauline of 54 years, he will be missed and lovingly remembered by his family; Roy (Patricia), Mervin (Janice), Dian (Vern), Cindy (Glenn) and grandchildren, Alexandra, Caitlin, Jennifer, Michael, Tanya, Candace, Rianna, Matthew and James. Nicholas was born on December 15, 1916 and was raised in Pine Ridge, Manitoba and was proud to live on the family farm his entire life. In 1953 he married Pauline and together they raised their four children and are extremely proud of their grandchildren. Dad was a man of faith, modest, and enjoyed the simple things in life. He was always worried if he was doing the best that he could for his family. Dad's greatest strength was being a very hard worker. His strength was not measured in physical capacity but by his indomitable will. After he retired from Birds Hill Park he was always up to some project or another around the home. He never tired of finding some new task that needed to be done. He especially enjoyed tending to his home. He liked to think of his yard as his very own park. He very much enjoyed the company of friends, family, and neighbours who came by to visit and he was always thankful to those who offered a lending hand especially in his later years. We would like to send our sincere appreciation to the nurses and doctors who attended to Dad and for their kindness and caring they extended to Dad during his stay at Concordia Hospital; Dr. Wiebe at the Oak Bank Clinic; Linda from Home Care; and Diane, Rita, and all the staff at Kinplace. We would also like to acknowledge some special individuals who went out of their way to help Dad over the past several years. They are Ben Wiebe, Aubrey Hope, Dave Nelson, and many other neighbours. He always spoke very highly of you and he was always very appreciative of the help that you extended to him. On behalf of Dad, Thank you all. Father Kowch will conduct prayers on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street. Funeral service will be conducted by Father Kowch on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Cooks Creek, Manitoba. Interment to follow at Birds Hill Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, memorial contributions can be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Vichnaya Pamyat
