Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNELLIE JENSEN (VAN TONGEREN) April 19, 1911 - September 21, 2007 Nellie Jensen passed away peacefully at Rosewood Lodge in Stonewall on Friday, September 21, 2007. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Sheila (Bev) Sherred of Inwood; her son Brian (Betty) Jensen of Inwood; grandson Rick Sherred (Val Dupont) of Inwood; granddaughters, Kathy (Kevin) Donnelly of Vancouver; Janice Jensen of Vancouver; Carol (Ryan) Smith of Stonewall; great-grandsons, Devin Smith and Randy Sherred; great-granddaughters, Taylor Smith and Racheal Sherred; sister Helen Arnould of Winnipeg; nephews, Wayne (Pam) Arnould and Lyle (Heather) Arnould of Winnipeg. Nellie was predeceased by her husband Peder in 1988; her parents Evert and Neeljhe Van Tongeren; her sisters, Alice and Jean; her brothers, Ed and Gerald. Mom was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, April 19, 191l. She graduated from Success College and started working at the Imperial Oil Company. She married Peder Jensen in September 1937 and they lived in Winnipeg until 1950 when they moved to a farm in Clearwater, Manitoba. After a few years they sold the farm and bought a café and poolroom business in Mather, Manitoba. In 1955 they returned to Winnipeg. Mom then went to work for the Registrar of the Department of Motor Vehicles until her retirement in 1976. They moved to Inwood, Manitoba, in 1979 and later on Mom resided at the Inwood Manor. The family wishes to thank the staff at Rosewood Lodge for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Rosewood Lodge in Stonewall or to a charily of your choice. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, September 28, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church in Inwood with interment to follow at Inwood Cemetery. Lunch will be provided at the Lutheran Church Hall. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
