ADOLF LOEWEN Surrounded by our love and prayers on Sunday evening, September 23, 2007, Adolf Loewen, our husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, left us to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Dad was born on September 14, 1926 to Dietrich and Margaretha Loewen in the town of Schoenau number 13, Sagradov, Ukraine. On September 14, 1948, as a birthday present to dad, Mina Harder agreed to marry him. Mom and dad had six children. On January 14, 1967 our family of eight were allowed to leave Novosibirsk, Russia to come to Winnipeg in the great country of Canada. Dad will be mourned by his wife of 59 years, Mina; his sons, Anatoli (Liliane) of Kanata, Ontario, Henry (Helen), Alex (Irma), Dietrich, Peter (Paulette); daughter Rita (Bruce); sister Margaret Loewen; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dad was a gentle, loving and generous person. He enjoyed time with family and friends. His pastimes included reading, drawing, painting and photography.
