HELGI GEORGE STORSETH September 23, 1929 - September 24, 2007 After celebrating his 78th birthday with his family, Helgi passed away peacefully on September 24, 2007. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 51 years Verna; his children, Brenda (Ed), Greg (Kim), Bruce (Jackie), Betty Ann (Dan) and Marie (Glen). His grandchildren, Tyler, Brendin, Matthew, Danielle, Tammy and Sara and sister Myrtle (Sid). He was predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Margaret, brother Chester and sister Joan. Dad was born in Lundar, Manitoba, raised in Vivian and Pointe du Bois. Dad met Mom in Whitemouth and after they were married, they raised their family in Winnipeg. Dad provided his family with a beautiful, loving, fun filled home and was the best Santa Claus ever. He gave all his children their first start in the work force and gave us all a very strong work ethic. He always provided guidance, love and support especially when we needed it the most. Dad had a distinguished 38 year career with Comstock Canada, retiring as Executive Vice-President. 12 of those years were spent in Edmonton, where he and Mom made many friends and enjoyed numerous golf trips in their motorhome. When Dad retired, they moved back to Winnipeg to spend time with their children and grandchildren. Dad and Mom spent much of this time at the cottage at Bird Lake with family and friends. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Concordia Hospital especially the third floor east staff for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held on September 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home on Highway #1 East at Navin Road. 222-3241. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Helgi's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. Dad we are so proud of you
