ALBERT WALTER COTTRELL Albert Walter Cottrell peacefully passed away on Monday, September 24, 2007 at Beausejour Hospital age 77 years. Albert is survived by his loving wife, Ethel; sons, Brian (Linda), Floyd (Darlene), daughter Caroline (Tim) Armstrong; three grandchildren, Keith, Heather and Karen Cottrell; brother Cliff; sister Gwyn (Walter) Graham as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Nora and Floyd and sister-in-law Phyllis. Albert was born January 29, 1930 at Radisson, Saskatchewan He started working with the department of Highways in November of 1957 in the Mafeking and The Pas area. In January 1965, he moved with his family to Wabowden and worked in the northern area as grader operator until he became foreman in Wabowden. He later transferred in 1985 to Lac Du Bonnet where he was the foreman. Albert retired on April 3, 1993 and spent his winters bowling and floor curling at pioneer club and playing crib at the legion each week. Summers were spent in his garden especially growing tomatoes and cucumbers and supplying his friends with them. The family would like to thank Dr. Pat Harris and Dr. Schroeder and all the staff at Cancer Care Manitoba and all those who drove him to his appointments in Winnipeg. Thanks to Dr. Zeiller and staff at the Beausejour Hospital for their excellent care and also to his many friends who sent cards and visited him while in the hospital and at home. Cremation has taken place and memorial service will be held on Friday, September 28 at 1:30 p.m. in the Royal Canadian Legion, 45 McArthur Avenue, Lac Du Bonnet, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba at 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
