PETER J. FROESE 1908 - 2007 Peter J. Froese of Winnipeg, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, morning, September 25, 2007. He was 99. Peter was born in the Ukraine, where his happy childhood and teenage years were interrupted by the passing of his mother and the Russian Revolution. His family immigrated in 1926, and settled on a farm at Manitou. He attended school briefly. He met and married Margaret Konrad, the love of his life, in Manitou in 1931. In 1938 our parents moved to the Newton area and farmed there until 1973, before retiring to Winnipeg. Their marriage of 76 years was blessed with seven children, 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Dad was mindful of living with integrity, and was very conscious of the grace of God in his life. Scripture reading and prayer were central. Mom and Dad really enjoyed singing and instilled a love for music in their children. Peter, our father, was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, and his son Peter, and granddaughter Charlotte. He is mourned and will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Margaret, and his children and their spouses: John and Irene, Katie and Paul Wiebe, Dave and Rose, Margaret and Jake Peters, daughter-in-law Louise, George and Kae, and Alfred and Ruth, as well as their children and grandchildren. We thank all who blessed our father with friendship and encouragement, especially in his last years. We thank you, Dad, for being an inspiring example to us, your family. Viewing at 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, at Donwood Manor, 171 Donwood Drive. The Memorial Service will be held at Friday, September 28 at 11:00 a.m. at the Portage Avenue Church, 1420 Portage Avenue. Donations may be made to Gideon's International or to Family Life Network.
