Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARNO PAUL DIRAUF September 7, 1947 September 20, 2007 Arno Dirauf died September 20, 2007, at the Ste Rose General Hospiital after a short courageous battle with cancer. His wife MaryBeth and brother Hans were with him at his time of passing. Arno was born in Germany, and immigrated with his family in the early 1950's. After spending some time at the University of Manitoba and Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, he settled into the practice of farming on the family farm at Ste Amelie, Manitoba. He raised cattle, geese and grew grain crops. Arno loved country life and farming with all it's challenges. Arno loved to travel. He skied with his wife MaryBeth throughout western Canada and the United States. Mexico with close friends was a favorite winter escape. Arno is survived by his wife MaryBeth, brother Hans (Laurel), sister Marlene (Fran), sister-in-law Ulla, brother-in-law Rick (Betty), nephews, Scott, Travis (Jackie), Eric, Andrew (Monica), and niece Michelle (Jamie). No funeral service was held at Arno's request. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment was held at the family farm. A special thank you is extended to all Arno's friends for their phone calls and caring words of encouragement during his brief illness. Arno's family would also like to extend a special thank you to Dr. J. Gingerich and Denise Klassen of Cancer Care Manitoba, Dr. D. O'Hagan, Dr. C. Gudmundson and nursing staff of Ste. Rose General Hospital, and Dr. T. Mathison, Debbie and Sharon of Dauphin CCP for their wonderful care and support during this most difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Arno's memory may be made to the Ste. Rose General Hospital Palliative Care unit. God saw you getting weary, And a cure was not to be, So he lifted up his hand And said come with me. Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Services Dauphin, Manitoba (204) 638-4110

Thinking of Arno today; remembering many a ski trip to Mt. Agassiz. Wishing to be in touch with Mary Beth to say hi. Miss you. - Posted by: Michelle Jubenvill (Friend of Mary Beth) on: Jan 21, 2015
