PHILIP FIKKAN Phil passed peacefully away in his home in Sequim, Washington on September 13, 2007. He was lovingly surrounded by his family and caregivers. Born in southwestern Idaho in 1912, Phil had a long and rewarding career with the Gambles Company, interrupted only by his service as a Navy Officer during the Second World War. His career took him to a number of states and finally to Winnipeg, where he became president of Gamble's subsidiary MacLeods Ltd. After retiring, Phil and his wife Dottie moved to Sequim, Washington. There, Phil enjoyed fishing, golf, hunting, travel, his flowers and orchard, and above all, family visits. Phil was predeceased by wife Dottie in 1999. He is survived by sons, Skip (Joyce), John; daughters, Carol (Greg), Kris (Sergio) and much loved grandkids, Kris, Janna, Cam, Lauren, Jon, Mike, Josh and Jamie. We all felt very blessed to have been able to care for him and return the love he so freely gave as Dad and Grampa. Fly and be free, Dad. God looked around his garden and found an empty space. He then looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful for he only takes the best. Author unknown
