He left Italy in his teens and after spending a few years in Sweden, immigrated to Canada with his family in 1953. He spent the majority of his working life in Canada employed as a machinist and lead-hand with the CNR in Winnipeg where he was affectionately known as Tiger or The Cat . Many life-long friendships were made during these years at CNR. Ermanno was fortunate enough to enjoy many years of retirement, which included annual trips to his beloved Mazatlan, Mexico. He had a calm, cool nature and a genuine love for good friends, good food and good times. Ermanno saw good in everybody and would easily and happily befriend people from all walks of life. His optimism and zest for life gave him great strength and courage through a tough battle in his final years. Ermanno will always be fondly remembered and sadly missed.
