SCHELLENBERG (1926 - 2007) On September 25, 2007, Peter K Schellenberg passed away in Winnipeg, formerly of Rosenfeld, Manitoba, at the age of 81 years. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Marjorie and his five children, Ted (Dianne), Irma (Bruce), Tony (Karen), Audrey (Al) and Tim (Kellie); grandchildren, Andrea (Bob), Jason, Robyn, Jen (Kerwin), Andrew, Melanie, Greg, Brent, Ian, Lisa and David. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Seth, Zayne and Eden. He was predeceased by his son, Howard in 1977 and by one grandchild, Corinne, in 1985. He is also survived by his sisters, Helen and Elma (Jona); brother-in-law Harold and his brother-in-law Gerald (Marie). He is also predeceased by his brother Jake, sister-in-law Helene; his sisters, Anne and Mary and by his brother-in-law Peter. Peter grew up in the Rosenfeld area, and attended Reichenbach School. Peter was baptized into the Rosenfeld Bergthaler Church in 1949 at the age of 23. Peter married Marjorie in 1950 and settled on the family farm near Rosenfeld. Peter was a farmer most of his life, retiring in 1989. Peter and Marge enjoyed their retirement, spending 13 winters in Mesa, Arizona. He enjoyed many hobbies including quilting, golfing, fishing, bowling, Canasta, shuffleboard and singing. He was involved in the Altona Mennonite Church as secretary-treasurer and as a singer in the choir. He was very supportive of education in the community and served as a Trustee for the Rhineland School Division for 27 years. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends, family and relatives, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at The Southside Bible Church at 1269 St. Anne's Road. Funeral service to follow on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Altona Mennonite Church, 267-8th Ave. NE, Altona, Manitoba. Interment to follow. Pastor Gordon Drieger and Wiebe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family would like to thank the staff on five south at the Victoria General Hospital for all their support to Dad during his hospital stay. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Food Grains Bank.
