JIM ROBINSON (ALFRED JAMES) January 1, 1935 - September 24, 2007 The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams Unknown. Jim passed peacefully at the Grace Hospice after a long struggle with cancer at the age of 72 years. His memory will be forever cherished by his mother Rosina Robinson, daughter Sue (Suzanne) and son-in-law Fred Narozniak Jr., daughter A.J. (Angela) and son-in-law Bucky Heard of Branson, Missouri, and grandchildren, Jazzlyn and Cydney Reese. Jim will also be remembered by brothers-in-law, Ray (Phyllis) Jacobson, Terry (Jane) Jacobson, sister-in-law Bev Jacobson (Blair Slater) and nieces and nephews, Jeff (Jaime), Chris (Steve), Neil (Rachel), Mitch and Erica. Long time resident of Headingley, Manitoba, Jim was known for his adventurous soul, his love of nature, his skill as a ballroom dancer, and his creativity and zest for life. Born in Burslem, England he arrived in Canada at 18 years of age, married (Joan) and worked for many years in the construction industry; first for Raymond Massey Construction and later for his own company, Robinson Builders. He went on to work for Crystaplex/Laird Plastics and then co-founded I.C.E., installing ice rink systems through Canada and the U.S.A. For the past several years he was the building inspector for the R.M.s of Headingley, St. Francois-Xavier, and Cartier. In his younger years he was the Scout Leader at Westminster United Church, ran a dance school at Normandy Dance Hall in Winnipeg, and was a founding member of the Phoenix Community Club in Headingley. As an expression of his faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Jim was baptized in April of 2003 in Branson. We will miss you, but know that you are once again dancing with mom on the ballroom floor. A private family service will be held. Family and friends are invited to a gathering celebrating Jim's life at Thomson Funeral Home 669 Broadway on Sunday, September 30 at 3:30 p.m. Donations may be made in his name to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Our family wishes to extend heartfelt appreciation and thanks to all the folk at the Grace Hospice, the doctors and staff at CancerCare Manitoba and Grace Hospital, Dr. P. Cho and Dr. E. Giesbrecht.
