Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARION (MICKEY) HRECHKOSY (nee KORZYK) Peacefully on Sept. 22, 2007 our beloved Mother and Baba passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Anne (Glen) La Tour, Jeanne, Marianne (Donald) Hladiuk, Darryl (Rosemarie), Barry (Lorelei), her grandchildren, Madeleine and Sasha, Marla, Natasha and Noah, Amber, Justin and Baillie. She also leaves to mourn numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews and her life long friend, Kay (Kit) Smart. She was predeceased by her husband Bill, her parents and siblings, Anne (Kauk), William, Olga (Dubesky) and Alexandra. Marion was born October 19, 1921, and raised in East Kildonan. In her earlier years she worked at Safeway, and later in the Eaton's store budget office. Mom was successful at numerous other jobs throughout her lifetime and will be remembered for her generous and hard working nature, quick wit, honesty and her beautiful brown sparkling eyes. Mom's greatest accomplishment was her love and dedication to her family. With her eyes she always showed how much she believed in us, her arms that never ran out of hugs and her shoulders that could always be leaned on. She was extremely proud of her families' achievements, taking pride in each success, no matter how small. Baba loved to take her grandchildren on walks in the park, cuddle up with a book, play endless card games, and tell stories of her childhood. She was blessed with the gift of gab, which helped her put people at ease. Over the years she enjoyed travelling and some of her favoured trips were to Calgary, Banff, Fairmont Hot Springs, Hecla Island and Camp Morton where she enjoyed the surrounding beauty and being with her family. Other notable trips were to Cleveland, Chicago, the East and West coasts of Canada, Florida and El Paso, Texas. Mom also enjoyed many games of bingo and playing the VLTs until age robbed her of her eyesight. Mom always had an open door policy to our family and friends, no one leaving her home without a good home cooked meal. As her health deteriorated over the years, it was her inner strength, and love of family that nurtured her spirit, and ours as well. Our family would like to give our deepest thanks to the paramedics and Resuscitation Unit at HSC, who were able to give us our Mom for a few more cherished weeks. Thank you to the Seven Oaks Hospital ICU and 5th floor unit 3 for all their wonderful, compassionate care during this time. Our sincere thanks to Dr. John Moncek and Dr. Ken Kasper for their excellent care and concern for Mom's well being over the years. To our dear sister Jeanne, our heartfelt thanks for being there for Mom every moment of every day. In accordance with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family service has been held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's memory may be made to the CNIB or a charity of one's choice. If memories stay within the thoughts And love within the heart Then how can it be truly said That dear ones ever part? God bless you Mom and Baba, we will cherish your memory forever. Rest in peace, your spirit will always be with us. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
