MICHAEL RICHARD BROOKS Suddenly on Saturday, September 29, 2007, Michael, beloved husband of Patricia (Marlene), passed away at the age of 67 years. Besides his loving wife Patricia (Marlene), he will be sadly missed by his son Christopher (fiancé Stephanie) of Winnipeg, nephew Jim Stewart and niece Jane Johanneson of Powell River, BC. He was predeceased by his sister Marnie Stewart and brother-in-law Jim, both of Powell River, BC. Michael was a happy, gentle, unassuming and sentimental man who loved the railroad and his association with the members of the Winnipeg Model Railroad Club. He was an avid collector of antique model trains and paraphernalia. He loved and lived to protect his wife and family, supporting his son's interest in hockey, encouraging him to succeed in all his endeavors. He had many jobs in his life including truck driver, warehouseman at HSC, Carlings Brewery, painter at Champs Chicken and became ill during his time as Supervisor of Maintenance at Dom Clean. Michael loved Western Music, his favourite was Hank Williams. He became a Christian in 1985 and loved the Lord. The family would like to thank Dr. Carl Duerksen, Dr. R. Macek and the staff at Concordia Hospital for their good care and all his friends and wonderful neighbours who helped him all these years. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 4 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Pastor David Louden officiating. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
