AGNES MARIE CHARTRAND (nee FORTIN) Peacefully on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the age of 74, Agnes Chartrand passed away at the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was predeceased by daughter Carrie Donna Rose in 1958, son Brian in 1991, two sisters and eight brothers. Agnes will be deeply missed by her family who loved her very much. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, Dude (Debbie) Chartrand of Lundar, MB, Fred (Bernice) Chartrand of Winnipeg, MB, Phyllis (Louis) Prairie of Winnipeg, MB, Debbie (Larry) Jones of Morris, MB, Barry (Karen) Chartrand of Winnipeg, MB, Jack (Myrna) Chartrand of Bassano, AB. She also leaves 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, sisters, Alma Berthelette, Marie (Lorne) Garbet, Alice Walsh and brothers, Roland Fortin, Sid (Joan) Fortin and Alfred (Ingiborg) Fortin, as well as many nieces and nephews. Agnes was born at St. Boniface Hospital on May 17th, 1933 and was raised in Clarkleigh, MB. Agnes was a very loving, kind and gentle person who loved life and people. Agnes adored her family and was always there when we needed her. She loved to work in her garden which produced many jars of relish, beets and a variety of pickles. Cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce were always placed in bags for visitors to take home. She also enjoyed picking berries, playing cards and Yatzee. All these activities were for and with her family and she took great pleasure in knowing how much we appreciated her hard work. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the heath care workers from Lundar and Winnipeg, the staff at the Riverview Health Centre. The family would especially like to thank Dude and Debbie, Phyllis and Louis and Barry and Karen for being mom's prime caregivers for the past two years. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the Lundar Legion Hall with Father Golfcheski officiating, with a luncheon to follow. Interment at the Notre Dame Cemetery, Oak Point. Honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.
