IRENE LEDARNEY February 8, 1927 - October 2, 2007 With her family by her side, Irene passed away on October 2, 2007 in the Teulon Hospital at the age of 80. Irene was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1992, and her parents, Nellie and Fred Dubyts. Irene will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed by her sons, Daniel/Don, Larry (Marie) and their children, Michael, Amber (Phillip), Leah (Jamie) and Ashley; Murray and his children, Rhett (Kim) and Nolan (Joanna); daughter Maureen (Victor) Medwid and children, Elissa (Stephan), Stephanie (Dave) and also three great-grandchildren, Brandyn, Camry and Kaedyn. Irene will also be remembered by her sisters, Ann Staples, Lena (Ralph) Lumb, Olga Bosada, Iris (Merlin) Hammond and her brothers, Harry (Shirley), Ernie (Joan) and Lawrence (Lorraine). Irene lived in Belmont until her marriage to Peter in 1949. They lived in Arnaud where Irene was a CPR Station Agent for six years. In 1970 they moved to Teulon where she resided until her death. During Irene's lifetime she raised her own children and opened her home for many foster children. Irene enjoyed tending her beautiful flower garden, quilting, baking and cooking (especially her famous perogies and cabbage rolls), picking berries and mushrooms with her husband, but most of all spending time with her family. Irene lived at home until November 2006 when she moved into Goodwin Lodge. The family will always be grateful for the care provided by doctors and staff at Teulon Hospital and the special care given by the staff at Goodwin Lodge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Irene's memory to Goodwin Lodge, Teulon, or a charity of your choice. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 6 at 11:00 a.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Pastor Claire Speary will officiate. Interment will follow at Dundas Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Rhett Ledarney, Dave Snadden, Stephan Pfund, Michael Ledarney, Jamie Harasymko and Warren Willis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Elissa Medwid, Stephanie Medwid, Leah Ledarney, Amber Ledarney, Ashley Ledarney, Nolan Ledarney and Phillip Koblun.
