NORBERT SACHVIE November 11, 1950 - September 29, 2007 After a courageous battle with cancer, with his loving family by his side, Norbert passed away Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the age of 56. He will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Sharon, of 35 years, his children Darren (Dana), Sheri Huminuk (Brent), Kevin (Amanda), Ryan (Hollee) and his grandchildren Kara, Carson, Branden and Kaylee. Norbert was born November 11, 1950 and raised in Green Bay, MB where his parents, Edward and Alma Sachvie, ran the family farm. He attended school in Beausejour and graduated from the U of M with a degree in Food Science. Norb lived life to the fullest. He met the love of his life, Sharon, in 1967. He enjoyed walks with her, sitting on his deck with his family and taking care of his yard and garden. He loved fishing and curling with his boys, farming with his brothers and socializing with all his friends. Norb and Sharon enjoyed vacationing and most recently cruises with their friends. Norbert worked at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for 34 years. He enjoyed and took great pride in his work. He was respected by his colleagues and most recently was awarded the President's Outstanding Contribution Award. His kindness, bright smile, sense of humour and big hugs will be so missed by all. Norb loved his family and friends unconditionally. We all were very special to him and he to us. He was not only a wonderful husband and father, he was our best friend. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 5 at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour with Pastor Bruce Gelhorn officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Bay Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
