Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN (JAN) GLOBA Peacefully on October 2, 2007 at Seven Oaks Hospital, John Globa, beloved husband of Sophie, passed away at the age of 84 years. Besides his wife, John leaves to mourn his daughter Adele (Andy) Dzioba of Oakbank; two sons, Joe (Brenda) and Ed (Rita); seven grandchildren, Jeff (Karen), Trevor (Daphne), Ashley, Katlin, Meghan, Andrea, and Adam; four great-grandchildren, Janelle, Chelsea, Matthew, and Kyle. He also leaves to mourn his nephew Carl and family of Thunder Bay, sister and family in Poland, as well as other relatives and friends. John was born in Poland and served as a soldier in the Polish Army during the Second World War. He married Sophie, his wife of 61 years in 1946 and immigrated to Port Arthur, Canada in 1948. Dad and mom moved to Winnipeg in 1949 where he worked as a carman for the CPR for the next 36 years. Dad was proud of his heritage. He was an active member of the St. John Cantius Polish Fraternal Aid Society and served on its executive for many years. Dad was also a member of SPK, Polish Combatants Association, the Royal Canadian Legion 34 Mynarski V.C. and St. John Cantius Church. Recently, he was recognized by the Polish Congress of Manitoba for his contributions to the Polish Community. Little John' was an energetic man, generous with his time and always willing to help family and friends with any project. Later in life, gardening became his passion. He was a devoted husband, dedicated father and loving grandparent. Dziadziu, we miss you and love you Special thanks to the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital 3rd Floor Unit 4. Prayers will be said on Thursday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Inkster. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 5 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church, 846 Burrows Ave. Interment in Holy Ghost Cemetery. If friends desire, donations may be made John's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
