ALLEN CLIFFORD STEVEN SHORTING August 28, 1953 - September 30, 2007 Suddenly on Sunday, September 30, 2007, Allen Shorting of Fairford First Nation, passed away at his residence. Allen leaves to mourn his wife Margaret Shorting, his son Kevin, step-daughter Vanessa, grandchildren, Desmond, Allea, Jayden, Austin and Justin and former wife and mother of his children, Mary Shorting (nee: Marsden) of Lake St. Martin. Allen is also survived by his children, Ursula, Guy, Vincent (Laverne), Waylon, Anita, Arnold, and his Baby Marla; his grandchildren, Justin, Ginger, Ashley, Meagan, Dustin, Emery and Daniel; his sisters, Olga, Sarah, Maxine (Clifford), Eleanor (Allan), Mary (Cyril), Sylvia and Baby Sis Darlene; special friend, John whom he considered his brother; cousins Lambert and Shirley and family; aunts, Priscilla Thompson and Mary Shorting (Sinclair); uncle Steve McLean. Allen was predeceased by parents, Phillip Norman Shorting (1990) and Isabella (nee McLean) Shorting (1998); Infant sister Dora; brother Rudy; grandson Jasper (1999); In-laws, John Marsden (1990) and Sarah (nee: Deaffie) Marsden (1962); brother-in-law, Russell Marsden (1996) of Lake St. Martin; brothers, Reginald Thompson (1968), Arnold Shorting (1987) and Robert Shorting (2006); brother-in-law Wilfred Thompson (2004); nephews, Terrance Anderson (2005) and Darryl Anderson (2006); and other aunts, uncles and cousins. Prayers and viewing will be held on Friday, October 5, 2007 between 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. at the Deliverance Centre, 1831 Selkirk Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. at Anderson Family Funeral Home, Ashern, MB. Interment will follow at St. Helen's Anglican Cemetery, Fairford, MB. Pastor Donald Gould and Jim Anderson officiating. Special thank you to the Pinaymootang Chief and Council and to all who donated.
