Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARTIN DUANE WATTIS It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son and brother, Martin Duane Wattis on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the Health Sciences Centre, with family by his side. Martin was born in Winnipeg at the Victoria Hospital on October 12, 1955, and took his early schooling at Kelsey Elementary in The Pas, MB. He also attended Churchill High School in Winnipeg, graduating in 1973. As an adult he attended the U of M Arts program. In his early years Martin was active in sports, Cubs/Scouts and Demolay. He also performed in the Salvation Army Marching Band playing both the trumpet and the French horn. Martin became involved in the Red Cross Club in high school, which led to many years of donating blood achieving a Certificate of Merit. His work history included wood crafting at Banbury Cross Toys, the Taxi Cab industry, SASK Wheat Pool and Advance Electronics. Martin was predeceased by his mother Elizabeth (March 14, 2007) and is survived by his father Arthur, siblings, Tannis (Des), Mark (Marcia), Michael (Pat), Stena (Rod), Kirsten (Thorsten), Kristine (Gary), numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society, or the HSC Foundation. Memorial service to be held at the Winnipeg South Osborne Legion at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2007.
