JOHN FRANCIS (FRANK) GALLAGHER On October 2, 2007, John Francis Gallagher of Edmonton passed away at the age of 88 years. The family sadly announces the passing of Frank. He was born and raised in Winnipeg, the 10th of 11 children. He attended St. Mary's School, St. Paul's College and married his wife, Sarah in 1946. Frank served with the Royal Air Force in the Second World War in England and Scotland working in radar technology. He spent most of his working life with Imperial Oil starting in Winnipeg in 1951, moving to Edmonton in 1972 and retiring in 1983. He and Sarah raised their four children before moving to Edmonton in 1972. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family. He was predeceased by his wife Sarah, in 2006, his mother Mary in 1958, his father James in 1935, nine siblings; Kathleen, Margaret, Electa, Gertrude, Rose, Alice, Mary, James and William. He is survived by his four children; James (Jean) of Winnipeg, Don of Sherwood Park, Fran (Dave) Myatt of Edmonton, Paul (Wendy) of Edmonton, Vera the mother of Paul's children; nine grandchildren; Janis (Wayne) Cormier, David (Corene) Myatt, James Gallagher, Patricia (Duncan) Conrod, Kathleen Gallagher, Sean Gallagher, Kristin Gallagher, Patrick Gallagher, and Connor Gallagher, six great- grandchildren; Sarah Myatt, Brennan and Ryan Cormier, Ellen, Harold and Natalie Conrod and one sister Rita Hay, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated for him by Rev. Daniel Abba at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, in Edmonton, AB, on October 5, 2007. A very special thanks is extended by the family to the staff of Devonshire Extended Care Centre and Dr. Don Korzenowski who looked after Frank so well.
