MARGARET BARBARA GOODCHILD (MARTYN) On July 27, 2007, Margaret Goodchild passed away at Dryden Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She will be missed by her husband Ernie, sons, Larry and Doug (Charlene), and grandchildren Beau, Jackie, Cody, Calyn, and Jory. She is also survived by brothers Harold (Mary), Duncan, Norman (Bev), George (Gladys), William (Eleanor), Keith, sisters Kay and Irene, sister-in-law Alice Chicken and brother-in-law Jim Bird. She was predeceased by her parents Robert and Ada, sisters Flora and Dora and brothers Reginald, Cecil and Daniel. Margaret was born July 23, 1927 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. While working at CNR in T.B., she met her husband Ernie. They married and moved to Winnipeg in 1946. Margaret worked for Smitty's Chip Shop and in Dietary Services at St. Boniface Hospital until her retirement. Ernie and Margaret loved spending their summers and retirement at their cabin on Eagle Lake. There are many great memories of fishing, shore lunches with the grandchildren, the old cabin and family. Margaret had a green thumb and took great pride in her park-like yard at the lake. Special thanks to Chantel Wisneski for her kindness and attention. A memorial service will be held at Transcona Funeral Chapel at 1800 Day St. on Friday, October 12 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancercare Manitoba, 1170 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
