Date of Passing: Oct 08, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAY BEREZUK In Loving Memory July 26, 1971 - October 8, 2006 This last year has been an emotional roller coaster thinking about Jay - my friend and nephew. Feelings have not changed from that morning he died, the anguish of knowing he wouldn't come back. Daily I think about my brother, sister-in-law, Jay's sister and family because I know it is a struggle to continue. The emptiness that can envelope you when your child dies is 24 / 7. I need them to know how much he truly loved them and they all meant the world to him. Family is what life is about - our Mother and Father taught us that - Jay was about family. A couple of issues I need to deal with in order to go forward. The family is entitled to grieve - so Twitch, if you could do one act of kindness - leave them alone. The other issue is - in all professions there are game players and manipulators. No matter what trash was presented to Jay - he took it - back at you - INTEGRITY - he had it. Sad, when out of fear, people try and bring you down. Jay always saw the best in people. Father Robbie McDougall said Jay had kind eyes. He also had a kind heart and soul and helped anyone he could. The story I am going to share signifies the Jay I know. It was Falcon Lake - last summer - the run for Cancer. Jay was taking pictures of all the candles that we lit for friends and family whom had succumbed to this disease. Jay wanted to show his family these pictures later. We were there that weekend because we had a cancer survivor with us. Jeannie had a grueling year and persevered as thousands do. Jay told her she fought a tough fight and beat it, and she should be so proud of her triumph. The look on her face and the hug that they shared told me she understood the depth of Jay's ability to care and the spirituality that was his guide. LET'S LIVE FOR JAY I RAISE MY GLASS TO YOU, JAY JAGER MIESTER IT IS TO YOU WHO MADE A DIFFERENCE KEEP CALM - STAY FREE SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE LOVE - Deb, Marion, Mat and Kris
