Date of Passing: Oct 04, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET NANCY BURRINGTON August 23, 1932 October 4, 2007 Nancy has gone to be with her loving husband Dick and son Tom. She died peacefully at home on Thursday October 4, 2007 under the loving care of son Bill and daughter-in-law Karen. She valiantly battled cancer for nearly 22 years, and was a model of hope and inspiration for many, many people. In spite of her difficulties, she never complained, never felt sorry for herself, and never stopped smiling. Nancy graduated as a Registered Nurse from Calgary General Hospital in 1954, which was always a source of great pride and friendships that survived for more than 56 years. She used these skills both professionally and in her personal life to help others. Always thinking of others ahead of herself she was a great wife, daughter, mother, sister, friend and caregiver. Anyone who met her was familiar with the famous Nancy smile , a wonderful trait that always lit up a room, and always brightened your day. Quiet and un-assuming, modest to a fault, but deceptively strong. She faced heartbreak that would crush a lesser person, but she always found the positive side of any situation, and took each new problem as just another challenge to be overcome. She is going to be missed terribly, but we take great comfort knowing that she is now with Dick, Tom, Granny and Virgie who she all loved so much. Our happy memories will live forever. We are so thankful to all her family and friends for your prayers, actions and kind words of support and encouragement. It helped us all more than you can ever imagine.
